Workshops
“One of the components of the whole series is we want people to be able to engage in a workshop. The workshop is open to any kind of player, any instrument, any genre of music, any skill level. We want to try to encourage as many people to come and check it out.
Every workshop we host is built on one idea: music is something you do, not just something you watch.
Students of all ages and levels of ability are welcome — whether you've been playing for decades or you're picking up an instrument for the first time. Working alongside our resident and visiting artists, participants dig into the real tools of jazz: how to improvise with confidence, listen and respond as an ensemble, and carry a performance with presence.
Workshop admission is sold separately from tickets to that evening's performance, so you're free to join one, the other, or both. A limited number of private lesson slots are also available for musicians looking for more focused, one-on-one time with an instructor.
